Coronet Hat

Interesting facts about this hat:

  • This is the first time I have ever knit a cable.
  • The hat is knit in two pieces. The cable part is a band which I knit separately and added onto the body of the hat.
  • I broke a needle while knitting this hat. I was holding so much tension and anger at one point that the tip of the needle snapped off.
  • I didn't initially buy enough yarn for this hat but was able to find extra yarn online that was from the same dye lot. How lucky is that?!?
  • It took me three days to get a decent photo of the hat.
  • I used about $25 worth of yarn to knit this hat.
  • From purchase date to finish date, it took me five months to complete this little project. Of course, I don't knit everyday which is why it took so long. I think I could have done it in two weeks if I could knit everyday after work.
  • Check out more photos of the front and back at my flickr site.
