Life's Little Victories: Holiday Edition

• Finishing an entire project on the airplane!

• Arriving at Chicago O'Hare in December and it is a balmy 40F day!

• Attending a wedding with a chocolate fountain!

• Watching a movie you never heard of and it turns out to be an excellent film (Taara Zameen Par)!

• Getting Peet's coffee and darjeeling tea for Christmas!

• Receiving a compliment on you hair!

• Losing your passport and then finding it in the recycle bin!

YES!

DONE!

It has taken me over ONE YEAR to go thru all of my India photos, pick out the good ones, edit them, write the captions and organize them into an album, but I did it and I am done!

I had over 600 photos, so this was not a trivial task. I narrowed the field down to about 160 photos and used the autocrop feature of my album making software (at blurb.com) to further simplify the task. I just checked my blurb account and saw that Blurb has printed the book and it is on its way to my Mom's house, where it will be waiting for me when I come home for Christmas. I can't wait to see it and I hope the print quality is exceptional!

I love my digital camera, but I think from now on, I will take fewer photos. Having too many choices complicated the task and delayed my gratification. Although, I must admit, going thru all the photos and reliving my vacation was a pleasure.

My next hobby project to complete? Knitting socks. Stay tuned.

August 25th

My one a day origami calendar is frozen on August 25th.
That was the last time that I slept in on a weekend.
Here I am, over 3 months later, writing in my blog at 7:30 am on a Saturday morning. Even my dog was asleep when I woke up this morning!
What happened to me? When did I grow up?
Does this mean I am going to end up at the Old Country Buffet for dinner at 4pm?
